Immigration Paralegal

Law Office of Joshua L. Goldstein

We are seeking a full-time paralegal at the Law Offices of Joshua L. Goldstein. Our paralegals engage in significant client contact and gain a great deal of insight into immigration law.

Our ideal candidate is highly-organized and detail-oriented, with excellent people skills and strong writing abilities. Our paralegals work closely with our clients to fill out forms, draft affidavits explaining their immigration cases, and gather documents in support of their cases. In addition to these tasks, our paralegals have administrative responsibilities such as making copies, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, billing clients, and delivering documents to court.

Legal experience and knowledge of immigration law aren’t required–we will train you. Spanish or Portuguese fluency is a must. Ideally, we would prefer someone with experience working in an office environment. Computer skills are essential, as our Mac-based office uses various online applications and software for legal research and administrative purposes. To demonstrate your superb attention to detail, please write your favorite type of candy in your cover letter.

Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in international relations, human rights, and immigration issues. Recent liberal arts graduates are encouraged to apply. A minimum 2-year commitment is expected. This position would be ideal for someone seeking meaningful legal experience before applying to law school or graduate school, and all of our paralegals have done just that. We are looking for someone available to start as soon as possible. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis.

The hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer a competitive hourly salary and benefits such as health insurance and vacation time. To apply, please send us a cover letter, along with your resume and a writing sample, using the application form below.
